We are very excited to announce that the Request for Proposal (RFP) for our new playground was issued on January 9
With the benefits of receiving a grant of $250,000 from the government and funds raised from the efforts of many volunteer hours, we are able to spend $273,627.52 dollars!
The footprint of the play area will be designed to be as big as possible (within the allowable space on the land) to allow for future fundraising opportunities to purchase additional equipment.
If enough additional funds are raised prior to signing the contract which could contribute towards the purchase of a piece of equipment, it will be added to the total amount available to spend. If the dollar value is not quite high enough, it will be saved as the starting point for a new project to raise funds for additional equipment to compliment our playground.
The evaluations and awarding of the contract will take place in February. The construction of our playground is scheduled to begin in April and completion is scheduled for the end of June. Grounds remediation will take place at this point. The playground will be open for occupancy for the school and the community by the time our new school year starts!
