Week at a Glance (Dec. 2-6)
At HHE, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We are so grateful to FAHHE, who purchased a 12-foot beautiful Christmas tree and to families who donated ornaments for the tree. A shout out to our parents Shauna and Lucas Samu, Shannon Robichaud, and Richelle McLean, who spent the afternoon setting it up in the foyer. It looks incredible!
Christmas Concerts
We are excited for our Grade 1-6 Christmas concerts on Thursday, December 5. Our Kindergarten Christmas concert will be on Thursday, December 12 @ 2:00 p.m. For the Christmas performances, students are welcome to wear their Christmas best or any holiday wear if they have it.
This Thursday, December 5 we have our Grade 1-3 concert @ 6:00 p.m. and our Grade 4-6 concert @ 7:00 p.m. Doors to the evening performances will open 30 minutes before each performance. Children are to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled concert. There will not be childcare during either performance. If your child is not performing they are with you, the parents. It will be a full house, so we are also inviting guests to our dress rehearsals during the day on December 5. We are hoping some extended family/friends can attend during the day to allow all families room to see their child(ren) perform. The dress rehearsals for Grade 1-3 will be at 11:00 a.m. and for Grade 4-6 at 1:30 p.m.
Strathcona Food Bank Drive
We are hosting a food drive at the school all of December! Please bring your donations to the
holiday concert or send them to school with your children. We will have room under our tree for all the donations. They will be picked up on Friday December 20. We also have a QR code if you prefer to donate a monetary donation, which will be posted at our holiday concerts.
Staff Parking
With the cold weather, we have noticed an increase of parents parking in staff parking to pick up and drop off their kid(s). Please avoid doing this. Although we sometimes have some empty spaces, it makes it difficult for staff and we often host sessions where staff from around the division should be able to find parking. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!
HHE's Values
If you haven't had a chance yet, Ms. Carruthers would love your feedback on Heritage Hills Elementary's core values for a leadership project that she is working on. The survey offers an opportunity to share your thoughts on the importance of these school values, your child's understanding of them, and any suggestions you may have for strengthening them within our school community. Thank you for your involvement and support. HHE Parent Core Values Survey
