News from the Den- August 29

An amazing start to the school year!

What an amazing start to the school year! We kicked it off with our Meet the Teacher and Welcome Back BBQ. It was so great to see so many families come out to the school. A huge thank you to our amazing families who volunteered to make the BBQ happen and to our School Council and FAHHE for making the BBQ happen. We have such a wonderful school community!

The two days of school just flew by, and we were so excited to see all the happy faces, watch the students play on the new equipment, meet new students and reconnect with our amazing Coyotes!

Despite the heat, it was a great start to the 2025-26 school year!

Within seconds, your calendar will contain all Heritage Hills Elementary’s important dates including holidays, school-closures days, planned activities and events, and it will remain synced with all the latest updates throughout the school year.

Download these bus apps for a successful ride!

Is your child riding the bus this year? If yes, download the My Ride and Bus Status apps to stay in the know about your child’s bus stop location, route, pickup time and whether their bus is running on schedule.

Our first meetings of the year are quickly approaching. We hope to see you on September 18 @ 6:00 p.m. in the library.

INFORMATION

Before School Supervision

Supervision before school will begin at 8:10 a.m. Please do not drop off your child(ren) earlier than that, as we will not have supervisors outside at that time. Thank you for working with us to ensure student safety!

Mental Health Capacity Builder

Our school is so fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in the Mental Health Capacity Builder Program. You can read a message below from our new Mental Health Capacity Builder.

Hi Heritage Hills families! My name is Kastyn and I am your school's new Mental Health Capacity Builder. My role is to support classrooms with mental health programming to support wellbeing. Stay tuned for more of what we will be learning in the classroom. I look forward to the year ahead!

Video surveillance at schools and on buses

Did you know each EIPS bus is equipped with video surveillance, and many school sites have video monitoring equipment?

Video surveillance and equipment help:

  • ensure the safety of all students, staff, drivers and property; and
  • discourage destructive acts.

As needed, EIPS school administration and Student Transportation staff review video recordings, in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Act. The recordings assist schools and the Division with monitoring student and driver conduct and may be used as evidence in a disciplinary matter.

For more information about the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, contact the EIPS Privacy Officer at 780-464-3477.
